Permanent Diaconate

Mission of the Deacon Community

Deacons of the Diocese of Boise are called by our Bishop to serve its people through strengthening the service character of our parishes and to ensure that all Catholics feel the love and care of our Lord Jesus Christ. Deacons will be formed, ordained and minister as intentional servants of humility, intentionality, passion, and mercy to all they meet within the parish and in the greater community. We are Witnesses of God’s Love and Mercy.

Mission of Deacon and Lay Formation (Servant School)

The Deacon and Lay Ministries Formation Program for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise provides intellectual, spiritual, human and pastoral formation to those individuals who have been identified by their pastors and parish leadership as having the gifts and the call from God to serve the people of God in Idaho in public ministry.
