Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Father William Casey of the Fathers of Mercy (C.P.M.) is leading a Parish Advent Mission at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Boise.

Titled “Essentials of the Catholic Church,” the mission is Sunday, Nov. 29 to Thursday, Dec. 3. Father Casey is speaking at all Sunday Masses and each 8:30 a.m. Mass during the mission. He is also speaking each night at 7 on Monday through Thursday of the mis-sion. (Masses and presentations will be livestreamed on the Cathedral Facebook and YouTube pages.)

“We decided to invite Father Bill Casey for our parish mission to begin the new liturgical year with a renewed focus on our Catholic spirituality and who we are as Catholics,” said Father Mariusz Majewski, rector of the Cathedral. “We hope to rejuvenate the Catholic life in our community, especially in this difficult time of the pandemic. Father Casey is a powerful and wonderful speaker who is well known in Catholic circles. Our hope is that he will inspire, encourage and allow us to dive deeper into our Catholic spirituality.”

Refreshments and opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation follow each of the evening presentations.

Father Casey is a national speaker and a frequent guest on EWTN. After serving as an officer in the Army, he felt called to the Fathers of Mercy. He was ordained in 1991 and served as Superior General of the Congregation from 1997 to 2009. For more information or to sign up to attend, contact the parish office at 208-342-3511.
