Dear Catholic Faithful,
As you are well aware, Hurricane Helene tore through Florida, Georgia, North Carolina,
Virginia and Tennessee. These states are still suffering from the devastating effects of the hurricane. Now, Hurricane Milton has caused similar havoc. Those affected by these
tragedies have been in our minds and hearts, and we need to pray for all adversely affected by this disaster.
Due to the grave nature of these situations, I ask that our Diocese respond with charity to the people affected by these hurricanes by taking up a one-time special collection on the weekend of October 26-27 to help provide humanitarian relief to these devastated regions of our country. The funds from this collection will be sent to Catholic Charities USA.
If people wish to write checks, they can write them to your parish, adding "Hurricane Relief Fund" on the description line. Each parish can deposit their cash and check donations by sending a single check to the Diocese of Boise. The Diocese will then forward the funds directly to the Catholic Charities USA office.
We are deeply grateful for your willingness to extend much-needed resources to the
people in affected states during these most dark days in their history. Your support is
invaluable. May God bring them healing, restoration, and a future with renewal and hope.

Como bien saben, el huracán Helene arrasó Florida, Georgia, Carolina del Norte, Virginia y Tennessee. Estos estados todavía están sufriendo los efectos devastadores del huracán. Y ahora está el huracán Milton, que ha causado estragos similares. Los afectados por estas tragedias han estado en nuestras mentes y corazones, y necesitamos rezar por todos los perjudicados por este desastre.
Debido a la gravedad de estas situaciones, pido que nuestra Diócesis responda con caridad a las personas afectadas por estos huracanes haciendo una colecta especial única el fin de semana del 26 y 27 de octubre para ayudar a proporcionar ayuda humanitaria a estas regiones devastadas de nuestro país. Los fondos de esta colecta se enviarán a Catholic Charities USA.
