Re: Statement concerning Bishop Peter Christensen

Bishop Peter returned home on June 13 after a week in the hospital, most of them in the ICU. Now at home, he reports his best sleep in seven days.

Bishop Peter was hospitalized because of a viral autoimmune disorder primarily affecting his back. He expresses his sincere gratitude to St. Alphonsus for the wonderful care he received from doctors, nurses, therapists and all who attended him, particularly Dr. Rachael Steiner, DO, Neurointensivist.

Bishop Peter thanks you for your prayers and asks that you continue to pray for him as he progresses toward full recovery.

Addendum

Statement in thanksgiving for the support Bishop Peter has received during his illness

I personally want to thank all of you for reaching out to me during my recent illness stemming from Guillain-Barre syndrome. Your prayers and care shown in friendship have brought me along on the road to recovery. Apparently, the medical professionals believe I will arrive at full recovery within the next 3 to 6 months. Of course, continued prayers are most welcome.

Again, thank you so much!
